1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the Fadelock application or website (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Fadelock is a password generator and encrypted vault application. The Service allows you to generate cryptographically secure passwords, and store encrypted credentials locally on your device. Nothing is ever uploaded to our servers.
3. User Accounts
To use certain features, you must register an account by verifying your phone number. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activities that occur under your account.
4. Encryption Key Responsibility
Important: You are solely responsible for your encryption key. Fadelock does not store, transmit, or have access to your encryption key. If you lose your encryption key, your vault data cannot be recovered by anyone, including Fadelock. We strongly recommend storing your encryption key in a secure, separate location.
5. Subscription Plans
5.1 Free Tier
The free tier provides limited access: 1 password generation per 12 hours, maximum 8-character passwords, and 5-second auto-delete timer. Free users will see advertisements.
5.2 Pro Plan ($2.99/month or $29.99/year)
Pro subscribers receive unlimited password generations, 21-character passwords, 30-second auto-delete timer, encrypted vault (30 credentials), breach monitoring, encrypted local backup/restore, password history, and ad-free experience.
5.3 Family Plan ($4.99/month or $44.99/year)
Family plan includes all Pro features plus up to 5 family members, 40 credentials per member, and encrypted credential sharing between members.
5.4 Remove Ads ($14.99 one-time)
A one-time purchase that permanently removes all advertisements from the free tier without upgrading to Pro.
5.5 Billing
Subscriptions are billed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your device's store settings.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the application.
- Attempt to circumvent subscription restrictions or rate limits.
- Share or redistribute promo codes or developer codes.
- Use automated systems to access the Service in a manner that exceeds reasonable use.
7. Intellectual Property
The Fadelock name, logo, and all associated branding, code, and content are the intellectual property of Fadelock. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without prior written consent.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. While we use industry-standard cryptographic methods, we do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure against all threats.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Fadelock shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or security breaches resulting from:
- Loss of your encryption key.
- Unauthorized access to your device.
- Third-party breaches unrelated to our Service.
- Interruption or unavailability of the Service.
10. Auto-Delete Feature
Generated passwords are automatically deleted after the configured timer expires (5 seconds for free users, 30 seconds for paid users). Once deleted, passwords cannot be recovered unless previously saved to the vault. Fadelock is not responsible for passwords lost due to the auto-delete feature.
11. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Locally stored encrypted data remains on your device.
12. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
